There are plus and minuses for anyplace we live. I try to bloom where I am planted I do like travelling but I am always glad to get back home to West Virginia. I was born and live most of my life in California until we relocated to West Virginia 20 years ago. I cannot imagine ever wanting to live in California again. I could do Northwest (Washington or Oregon) .

I would live right where I am. Hervey Bay, Queensland Australia. I was born In Brisbane, about 400klm south of here. I travelled most of Australia while I was in the Army and had a trip to Vietnam. But to me there is no better place to live than where I am.

I smiled when I read the part of your comment about how your car "knows the roads" there. I always feel so much safer on roads that I am familiar with and I like the feeling of knowing my local roads too.

Smiling about the car knowing the road...... I have that same feeling, and occasionally think it, as I travel the roads in my area. I've lived on the same piece of land since 1973. Joe said his mother often spoke of Naples, Capri, and of course her home in Ischia. He still has family in those areas and his sister has traveled many times to visit them. I've only seen pictures, but it looks so peaceful, almost magical. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
