Sanded !

That old $5 derelict dresser I purchased for $5 is now all sanded ready to be primered in then a coat of white enamel with Venetian Gold trim.

All the drawers have been re-glued and repaired with the broken or missing pieces replaced.

The missing rails were held in place by staples.... as luck would have it I just happened to have some.

We went out for dinner.... I made a platter of deep fat fried onion rings, fries, mushrooms, okra, cheese balls, and hush puppies my dinner with a cheese burger. JD's steak & baked potato he could have had at home... oh well... at least I didn't have to cook. We ran into a couple friends for a few drinks and shoot some pool. Wind gusts up to 55 MPH here and falling temps 21 F .../-7 C

55 mph winds are ridiculous. Those are very near semi-trailer toppling.

It only got to +1F here today and is now -4F, calm, partly cloudy. Forecast calls for a high of +30F tomorrow, but windy.

Hard work I'm sure; but it will be all worth it in the end. It must be very fulfilling to make something old and worn look like new again.

I admire your industry......I have a huge antique dry-sink/cupboard that houses my stereo, that I've been meaning to refurbish for the past decade......It has a pull-out enamel counter and a pull-out cutting board and a swivel flour-bin that is lined with metal to keep rats out.....I pondered for a long time about what colour to paint it, what hardware I wanted.......It took several people to move it into it's present position.....It's enormous...I moved it from my last house 7 years ago...

I have to do the work on it in place and that would make a huge mess........I have come to like the signs of wear in the off-white painted surface......I used to buy and sell antiques, and I was very good at "distressing".......So.....I found the perfect hardware, but I'm strangely reluctant to start.....having to move everything in the cupboards and make the big mess........

So,me items we just seem to put off to the point where we get "used to" their imperfections. I've always been active, never resorting to procrastination.. if anything I am . the opposite of the word seeking out things "To Do!"
