After my husband got saved, we attended a church that was filled with people who loved to give. I could fill a blog with stories of their giving to other folks, and we were sometimes the receiver of those blessings and sometimes the giver.
I remember one year, a few days before Thanksgiving... or maybe it was Christmas.... I looked out the window and saw something attached to our mailbox. I sent one of the older kids out and they came back in so excited to get a knife to cut the cords that held a huge turkey in a pan tied to our mailbox!
We learned a very humbling lesson............. in order to be a giver, they has to be a receiver. So when someone wants to bless you, if you refuse it, you steal their blessing of giving! Be a joyful giver! But also, be a humble receiver.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
