This is a true story, and one that Joe and his siblings still laugh about ........... Joe's mother came from Italy and she spoke very limited English at first. One day, she went to buy some baby socks, and the sales clerk was making fun of her English and her accent by not understanding at all what she was trying to say. Finally, in exasperation and anger at being tormented, his mother said, " I say to you, vaffanculo!" A man shopping, turned to her and said, "Mrs. D. I KNOW what you said!" She was mortified. That man was the last Commodore in the U.S. Navy, Charles Mauro. He commanded the first nuclear destroyer or cruiser. They have since reinstated the title of Commodore, I believe. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Please explain why the guy didn't just look for the socks in the first place? One, because he's a guy. Two, because it's a joke. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
