In the winter months, my inlaws, who were farmers, always had a big puzzle going. It was set up on the library table and anyone could work on it.

The same in my parent's home.....It was set up in the formal dining room....My sisters and I had to tear our boyfriends away from a puzzle several times.....Then our mother bought one of those Shillcraft rug kits with the pre-cut yarn, painted and numbered pattern on the canvas base and hooks to insert and tie the yarn........I still have a photo of the finished hearth rug....Everyone participated in that.....then we went back to the puzzles........I don't have much patience for puzzles.....I prefer making art......or knitting.

Good for you Earthy

I see it advertises Arm & Hammer baking soda.

Earthy, we have a jigsaw gracing our dining room table round the clock, and 1000 pieces are our favorite size. Typically each new puzzle consumes about 3-4 evenings. Tonight's edition is called "All Star Restaurant."

Your old fashioned baking scene image is making me hungry!

I am not a jigsaw puzzle fan. I do crosswords and play scrabble online with my sister. I think these sorts of things keep your brain active and help to keep producing new brain cells. I also play a lot of games online. Pogo is my favorite place to go.

My kids used to love puzzles, then just stopped. It was like an off switch was turned in each one of them at the same time. I'd bought a few boxes of 1,000 pieces for Christmas for them but they never even opened them. I gave one to a friend's daughter for her birthday and still have one or two in the garage. They were quite expensive.

That's a nice picture on your puzzle. I'm trying to guess the 'era' 50's or 60's?

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

I don't have the space for anything that big.

A good mental exercise ET. I see you have enough patience, it seems hard...
I rather play a word game, like Scrabble.

Earthy I didn't know you were a Pogo fan. I think Mrs Joe is as well. I think there are a couple of other SFF members that play in the game rooms of Pogo. I have acquired 1259 badges that are absolutely useless. I have met a number of people in the chat rooms there.
