THROW BACK THURSDAY..... Trip to Italy Italy TEXAS that is. I sold my house in 20 and took the plane to Italy Texas to attend a workshop on how to build a Dome House. I quickly determine that it was not realistic to actually build one. (, zoning laws, and other regulations) but it was an interesting experience regardless. I stayed at a Hostel in Irving Texas and decide to visit the George Bush Presidental Library in Dallas. That was the most interesting part of the trip. I try to visit someplace, I've never been at least once a year. I suspect that Italy in Europe would be much more historical but I have to find my adventures within my realities. Luckily, I do well at travelling on a shoestring. |

I remember your adventure with the dome houses. We actually have a couple in our area, but they are very large. I had the joy of touring one when I was part of the welcoming ministry of our church. I called and delivered them home made cookies and they asked if I wanted to see their house. OF COURSE! It was very unique because they had allowed the walls to be circular inside also. They told me that some people actually make the room walls straight and just insulate between the domed outer wall. Their home was windows from the top floor all the way to the ground on the south side that faced the road. They were glad the house sat way back from the road, so they could leave the drapes open most of the time and still have privacy. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
