Memories A street in Malacca by Lee Siu Wei A quiet window For us to peer back in time To seek yesterday At times with apprehension Sometimes with expectation Images that flit In and out of our minds Transient passages Through the eternity of time Bringing bygones to the fore Impressions that stay Stubbornly lingering on Some with nostalgia Some with pride and happiness Others with shame or sorrow Secret treasure house Of great wisdom and knowledge Grasped from experience The foundation of our being The essence of what we are Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past |

Hi shirl, Yes, memories are all that - bitter, sad, happy. I too like to share the happy ones, sometimes the sad ones but not the bitter ones. Maybe it is the way we Malaysian Chinese are brought up. I think it is known as being positive or optimistic. I think you would have noticed that I too do not like to whine. If that is painting a false picture, so be it. Our new PM has freed a few ISA detainees, lifted the ban on some newspapers and promised the nons equality. Can he do it? I don't know but he has ascended to the position with a lot of baggage (and opposition) with accusations of corruption and murder. I am now in Singapore and would be doing my Ching Ming duties when I return. Still snowing huh? I guessed so because my son had informed us that it was 11 C in Paris yesterday. Are there any crocuses yet? Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past
