I wasn't sure what they were but I was about to comment that they are really different from the bougainvillea we have here.

Hi DW,

No, Frangipanis do not have thorns. As for the squirrel, I am sure that it understood me. However, as it was quite timid, its voice was almost inaudible but I am sure it said something about "nuts".
