A response to tombir's JUST THINK A while ago, tombir posted this poem by Robert W Service. JUST THINK Just think some nights the stars will gleam Upon a cold gray stone And trace a name with silver beam And lo! twill be your own. That night is spreading on to greet Your epitaphic rhyme Your life is but a little beat Within the heart of Time. A little gain, a little pain A laugh lest you may moan A little blame, a little fame A star-gleam on a stone. I like this poem and hence my response: JUST TALES The morning rays so warm and bright Embrace the silent stone And bring the hidden tales to light- The tales you know alone. The brightest day, the darkest storm That you have rambled through; Your wildest dreams, the breaks from norm- Unknown to all but you. A little love, a little fun, The tears left strewn behind; A little laugh and then there's none Except a stone that's grimed. Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past |
