Streets of Gold I walk upon streets of gold thinking about what I was told What paid for it, what had been sold I saw the riches abound What comes, should go around But no compassionate people,, to be found. A Mexican woman's face I saw Just wanting to walk with me A wife, a mother, and a law She was a criminal, it had to be Not a r*pist or a thief Just a person, found in grief seventeen years had gone by And no one bothered to ask why She was r*ped, by men of trust her family stolen, left in tears the streets of gold turned to dust In keeping with, undying fears I saw a penny on this street And wondered what it had bought Amongst these riches..... could it buy for me Not much, I'd guess, but maybe a thought. |

What are we becoming?

Yes, compassionate people are taken advantage of......people choose to take advantage of those they can. Yet there are always winners and losers. No matter what you think, no matter who you may think gets the advantage. No matter who you think is smart or stupid. The compassionate person.....ALWAYS WINS.

I found a penny on the street yesterday. That is a rare event in Canada these days since we got rid of them.
