Karin: Sometimes loved ones are there but the person rejects whatever help they try to provide. I know this first hand. My sister committed suicide May 2010. It will be 2 years next week. My sister wanted to come to Arizona (from Colorado) but her alcoholism was so bad I could not handle her as well as caring for a sick husband struggling with terminal lung cancer. I could see her spiraling out of control and nothing I could do was enough. I called her grown children, I called aunts, and uncles, and my brother and sister. No one would come to her aide. I don't believe her children realized the urgency of what she was dealing with. I begged her daughter to get her into rehab but she was afraid to piss my sister off. Well you can see the end results. I apologize for the lengthly comment but this topic brings out many emotions and pain. Sometimes we are helpless. Hi Karin: Apparently there are so many members of the military that commit suicide too, but when a celebrity kills themselves half the country is in mourning. Still if an adult makes a decision to drink or use drugs or shoot themselves, there's not much their family can do about it. I think all parents should forbid their children from playing football because it is too dangerous and there are so many football players who have concussions and irreversible brain injuries.
