Wedding Shoes

Most of us women never liked wearing high heels but did becasue that was expected or required. I had a couple of jobs where they were part of the expected grooming. At the time I was just fine with them but never liked them. They were off as soon as I was. These days I could not manage them but few my age could or would.

The younger folks these days may choose to wear several inch high spike heals to the beach or flip flops to dinner. My nephew's wife chose not to wear them at her wedding opting for pink athletic shoes with her wedding gown. He wore matching ones in purple. You got to hand it to today - they create their own dress code.

Their purple and pink sneakers matched perfectly with the paper lanterns- a harmonious blend :- )

I have not seen this but I like it! Young ones today have a great attitude and really don't worry what others think.

By the way, I think that gal bending over behind them has on my dress. I'm going to go check my closet and see if it is missing

Well... I never had the problem with high heels, thank the Lord. But really do I like the idea of the shoes.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Vanity & 'fashion' vs practical eh? What price back pain? Hmm.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

My mother had a friend like that. Would not leave the house unless she was completely dressed and made up. 30 years later her daughter has taken on the role.

That's funny. The lady is one of my sister's good friends. We have some silly [pictures of her clowning around in a "cheese cake" pose. If I can find it I will send it to you.

Purple and pink were the theme colors of the wedding. Another break from the tradition that everything needs to be white and delicate. Like me, the bride loves color.

Somehow I can picture you wearing purple tennis shoes to your wedding.

Me too. It makes feel good that the social rebellion I was part of in the 60's and early 70's rally did make a difference. In 1969 I did the unheard of. I got married by a half drunk justice of the peace in front of my mother's fireplace wearing a green satin mini dress and had a chocolate wedding cake.

That is exactly what I told them. Since we had no specific requirements from church we could do anything they wanted. Everyone was happy and had so much fun. None of the usual anxiety or worries about something going wrong..
