Voting on Comments I both like and dislike this feature. It's good becasue it gives an opportunity to either agree or disagree without having to add our 2 cents worth but unfortunately there is something else at foot. I have often wondered if some people even read comments or just look at who made it and either agree or disagree.  Spiritwoman ^i^ |

The agree/disagree feature on this site is a total waste of space. Some people will disagree with your blog, just because YOU are YOU. Alfie...

I tend to think that this feature is the equivalent of vanity press for those people that think they need affirmation.

Spirit, I think that voting feature is ridiculous and think everyone should disable it from their blogs. Everyone knows it's only used as a way to hurt people's feelings by letting them know how many people don't like them, and to urge on internet bullies. For a friendship group for seniors, there sure seems to be a lot of insults and hate going on around here, so the last thing we need is that voting feature.

Maybe they need an "abuse filter" - anyone who has abused cannot vote. How many voters would there be left? lol Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

I feel like you do. Once, when I expressed support for a friend here who had lost someone dear to them I was shocked by the negative votes for the comment. So it is what you say...a good/bad thing. Several times I have noted many negative votes on issues of compassion, such as support for hungry children and also a coldness with respect to violent abuse and even deaths of innocents. We all are on certain blogs which is why I never comment on some. Others it's just a sigh and an acknowledgement that it is obviously important to some that I otherwise like and comment anyway. Spiritwoman ^i^
