Red lights... Have you...

...ever been out in the "wee" hours and encountered a red light at an intersection with unlimited sight lines and no other traffic? If "Yes," .... what did you do? Wait? ... or "run" the light? ( I "run" the light...)

When I am King of the World, all intersections with lights will have active controls... If one of the intersecting roads has no traffic, then its light will remain red, and traffic on the other road will have a constant green...

At most intersections, the lights will blink ... one blinking red; the other yellow.... from midnight 'til about 5:30 or 6:00 AM.

Let's face it, besides the unnecessary time waiting, vehicles queued at lights burn fuel and go nowhere....a shameful waste of "energy."

P.S. If you have such a "pet peeve" intersection, now, you should contact your local DPW and ask them to review the intersection.

The Spirit of the Red Light Law is not have a car in the other intersection come crashing into you. If there are no cars, I am not going to sit there and wait for a stupid light to change. I'll run the darn thing. Long Term Stationary in the car at the wee hours is not safe.

I run it and feel evil, like I have gotten away with something illegal. It's like that 'high' of going in the "out only" door. Comparable to the exhilarating experience of having 16 items in the 15 item only check out line. I say, take a walk on the wild side. lol

Never, ever, ever run with scissors! Walking around with a tootsie pop in my mouth is dangerous enough.
