Not the sharpest knife in the drawer

Local CBC radio reported this morning that a 22 year old Aussie had been arrested at Edmonton airport for trying to lure a 13 year old girl into a sexual encounter.

He found her on the internet, arranged a meeting, and flew from Australia.

Her mother became suspicious, questioned her, and the story came out.

Pretty dumb move on his part.

If he had done this with an Aussie one assumes he would have been in deep doo-doo down under.

But getting arrested in another country on the other side of the world is far worse.

I would appreciate it if our Aussie members would watch to see if this gets any coverage in Australia.

The man’s home in Chatswood, a suburb of Sydney, Australia, was searched by the New South Wales Police Force on Feb. 21. Investigators seized a computer and other electronic devices that will now undergo forensic examination.

Jiashu Weng, 22, is charged with luring a child under 14 years of age, possession of child pornography and distributing child pornography.
