Great pictures MySeek! Looks like everyone was having a wonderful time.
And that, of course, is exactly what Carnival is... a way of cheering people up in the cold dreary days of winter.

Long may it continue!

Amazing shots! You simply reminded me my stay in the then West Germany in the year 1976. I was young then. Mostly lived in Hamburg and Berlin.

Interesting photos, thanks for sharing. The Nice Carnival begins Saturday, theme this year is Space but I'm sure there will the just as many satiric floats as usual.

Very colorful, but I don't think I would enjoy it...... it made me think of the pictures I have seen of Mardi Gras in New Orleans..... which I don't think I would enjoy either. But festivals and carnivals are great for those who do like that kind of thing..... a cheerful, fun event to take us away from our every day routines.

Fantastic! I see there are lots of people and colorful dresses. I don't like crowds, either.
Are there a prize for the best float?
Thanks for sharing this interesting event, dear Karin.

Karin...I left Germany for London probably on December 23, 1976. Perhaps I lived in Germany nearly a year or less. I could recollect that while living in Hamburg, I had the opportunity to enjoy the gigantic yearly festival called as 'Hamburg DOM funfair beside other types of minor Fest there. I liked the small town Luneburg where I went to learn German Language before Joining Commerzbank in Hamburg. I should mention here that I was not an employee of this bank. I was with them for some months as their Guest!
I have many memories of my time with the Germans, especially when I was in Luneburg! Anam(look)
