Amazing shots! You simply reminded me my stay in the then West Germany in the year 1976. I was young then. Mostly lived in Hamburg and Berlin.

Interesting photos, thanks for sharing. The Nice Carnival begins Saturday, theme this year is Space but I'm sure there will the just as many satiric floats as usual.

Very colorful, but I don't think I would enjoy it...... it made me think of the pictures I have seen of Mardi Gras in New Orleans..... which I don't think I would enjoy either. But festivals and carnivals are great for those who do like that kind of thing..... a cheerful, fun event to take us away from our every day routines. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Karin...I left Germany for London probably on December 23, 1976. Perhaps I lived in Germany nearly a year or less. I could recollect that while living in Hamburg, I had the opportunity to enjoy the gigantic yearly festival called as 'Hamburg DOM funfair beside other types of minor Fest there. I liked the small town Luneburg where I went to learn German Language before Joining Commerzbank in Hamburg. I should mention here that I was not an employee of this bank. I was with them for some months as their Guest! I have many memories of my time with the Germans, especially when I was in Luneburg! Anam(look)
