Relationship Vanity..........a need for understanding

........The movie "Thelma and Louise" although immensely popular was somewhat offensive to me as a man. It centered around 2 women who were dissatisfied with their Husband/boyfriend and decide to take a vacation away from men. So whats their first stop? a bar frequented by men and women "on the prowl" and Thelma was almost by man whom Louise shoots and kills. With very few exceptions the film portrayed many men as animals and depicts a part of the male world that looks all to familiar to a lot of women. OK 60minman whats your hang up? Well this movie shows us how attractive women view a world of boorish men and how angry they become. Suppose we have a film which shows us a boorish man viewing a world of attractive women. Finding a male lead might be difficult as many male stars are considered "hunks". Anyway this non de script, non hunk guy would wake up in the morning open the newspaper and see Ads of beautiful woman in their bra and panties. then turns on the TV news and sees beautiful women dressed scantily in revealing dresses which show off their bountiful assets. Then as he drives to work in his beat up car he sees billboard after billboard with bikini clad models hawking various products. Arriving at work the women who are dressed "to kill" pay him no attention because he is not a "winner", not a "hunk". Bombarded day after day by all this sexuality the poor guy starts buying racy magazines, frequents strip clubs, and starts calling those 900 numbers. Finally having spent all his money in pursuit of some illusionary goal that he could never reach he turns to crime and meets the same unhappy end that Thelma and Louise did........
......Such a film will probably never be made. It seems that for whatever the reason a woman's pain regarding their relationships can be more easily confronted than what males experience. The tragedy of these types of films is that men and women need to know the truth about each other's pain. Relationships are often worse than they need to be. By understanding how the two genders relate to their sexuality, perhaps some empathy on what many men and women endure daily would make a better world for both. I certainly hope that one day the sexes will see each other as human beings instead of objects. The constant need for a woman to show off her neckline and a man to flaunt his success with flashy cars just might become a thing of the past......but I doubt it.

OMG...and I thought chato was just another pretty face. One thing if sure is that life sure isn't boring with him.

Actually I never did much care for that movie or others like them. I think there are many movies on both sides of the gender spectrum that are an insult to our intelligence.

Hi 60: What an interesting blog. I was wondering right up until the end how Obama was going to get blamed for all this. HaHa

Just yesterday I was thinking about how people usually end up dating within their own, for lack of a better term, class of attractiveness. The '10' people usually end up dating another 10 person, sometimes an 8 or a 9 person, but not much lower. The problem with that is that there are so many props for women. We have access to hundreds of things to make us look more attractive or sexy or tall or however we want to look, but with men there's not much they can do to change their appearance.

lol! at bijou about Obama....and good replies here!

T & L was no different than the typical t!ts 'n a$$ shoot-em ups that are geared towards men. Ninety minutes of fantasy and empowerment in a darkened theatre.
