Sour Grapes? Romney's evisceration of Donald Trump

While I don't agree with Donald Trump on many if any of his stated positions, I do find it interesting Mitt Romney (the failed former republican Presidential candidate) is set to eviscerate Donald Trump on a television address this evening.

One wonders is this a classic example of sour grapes. The fact Trump is out performing Romney at comparable stages of their respective campaigns lends credence to that hypothesis.

There is a striking similarity in the campaigns of both Trump and Romney. Trump is wants to exclude all Muslims from our society (similar to Adolph Hitler's genocidal response to those of the Jewish faith). Romney was willing to disregard 47% of Americans because, in his words, they would never share his political philosophy.

Romney, in many ways, is as tone deaf and capable of questionable behavior as anything that Donald Trump is capable of. After all, this is the fellow that hauled his on top of his car for many miles causing the animal such trepidation that it crapped all over his car. This is the fellow who made some of the most questionable statements in recorded history.

What gives Romney the right to judge Trump? Both are wealthy beyond the average person's comprehension. Both are so insulated from the conditions of life for the majority of Americans as to be incapable of rendering effective guidance. But why Romney? Why now? Is he worth considering? I say emphatically NO.

Hi Don: I'm was not a Romney fan before but I thought his speech was great. I thought it was sincerely made out of worry for the U.S. with Trump as president, and he spoke up even knowing Trump would probably sue him. Many prominent Repubs have also finally come out against Trump. The voters are being duped big time by Trump and I hope more prominent Repub names speak up now before it's too late.

    Quoting LeafRelief:
Romney told 539 lies in 30 months. He did it without shame, and frankly calculated that lies delivered a net advantage. He is as you say incredibly disconnected. But I think he should have respected 3 million people who already have voted for him and his remarks demonstrated no respect for that. It was just unnecessary and I believe it was more manipulative than sincere. Just hours before a national debate?
Of course he did.

A politician running for office has to lie.
