Mitch McConnell confirms it. The republican party is owned by the NRA.

While any reasonable person could have inferred as much, Mitch McConnell removed all doubt on his Fox News interview on Sunday when he said the following:

‘I can’t imagine that a Republican majority in the United States Senate would want to confirm, in a lame duck session, a nominee opposed by the National Rifle Association and the National Federation of Independent Businesses [NFIB].’

So that means republicans will listen to the NRA before they consider the will of the people.

I would have thought that the intervening 8 months before this Presidency goes into the 'lame duck' phase would be ample time to sort out a Supreme Court appointment.; it has never taken such a long time before.
Perhaps Mitch McConnell does not understand the meaning of 'lame duck'.

I thought the Republican party was owned by the oil interests and/or the Israel lobby.
