Hey Conservatives - How Does it Feel to Have Been Duped? I wonder how it must feel for conservatives on this site and elsewhere to realize that they have been duped by their party's voice and face Donald Trump. Trump began his ascendancy to his candidate position on the lie that attempted to delegitimize the President of the United States. He kept this lie alive for five years and naive conservatives on this site swallowed it whole followed in lock-step. Among those on this site were Big Block, Mrs.Joe, IGa, Maise, Rich, Dan and Listeria to name a few...there were others. Yesterday Donald Trump stated that Barrack Obama had been born in the United States (most intelligent people already knew that about Obama five years ago). He did so only because he recognized the albatross he had created for himself and this was going to prevent any inroads into the black voters he desperately needs. Was he sincere? Only Trump knows, but I think he was not because his reason for straightening out the record was transparently self serving. Did Trump go far enough in his statement? No, he didn't. He needs to apologize to President Obama and he needs to apologize to the American people. Is that likely to happen? Not any time soon...unless the controversy lingers. I predict it will linger because Trump did not go nearly far enough. |
