On such a day can I tell her?

The mail that was never sent to Tisha!

It is raining since morning--though not torrential but incessant--no respite! And this seems to be the time to come out of the labyrinth of memory! To tell her something not told before!
Here is the text of the unwritten and unsent mail posted for her to read and ponder!
And who else can say it better than my favorite poet?

"On such a day can I tell someone
In such a dark and dense downpour
On such a day, can I bare my soul
Amidst the rumbling roar of clouds,
this unceasing drizzle of rain,
this sun bereft deep duskiness

None other there be, to hear those words
In seclusion and solitude
Face to face be, the two of us
Heavy of heart in deep sorrow
Incessant tears streaking the skies
None other there be, as if it were.

Worldly matters, pretence they are
Deception, is the daily din
Gazing into each other’s eyes
Sipping sweet nectar from therein
One heart reaching out to another
All else fades into the dark

Offence is it, to anyone
Unburden my heart, if I can
In this deluge, once if I can,
Sit down in a quiet little nook
Few words if I say to the one
Matter does it, to anyone?

The wind speeds in desperation
Lightning flashes from time to time
Those words that have, in this lifetime
Still remained within, in my mind
Those are the words that I may tell
Today in this dark and dense downpour."

I hope you won't have floods. It's still raining here with fresh snow in the mountains and snow and ice warnings on higher ground. Take care.

On a day like these I grab my fuzzy blanket I keep on the couch I sit on to read. I call it "my 5 minute blanket" as that is about how long I can stay awake when I pull it up.

A very melancholy poem seems to fit well the stormy weather. I really enjoyed the photos. I like rain, within reason that is..... but not when it is accompanied with high winds.
The first picture really intrigues me. Umbrellas hanging so high would not seem to do much to deter the rain in the market so they must be for decoration...... or are they there for sale?

You must have then a magic blanket, Abelle. I can not however sleep on such a day. The rumbling clouds keep me awake on such days. Thank you so much for the post.

Thanks for liking the photos! Those are not all collected from my country. Some of them are from the island of Mauritius and the one I like is from Saint Petersburg, Russia. I used to like in my boyhood to walk in the rain but not when it was accompanied by thunder. The first picture is from Mauritius. It is the image of bright colorful umbrellas suspended overhead at Le Caudan Waterfront, Port Louis, Mauritius. Thanks for stopping by and for your comments left on the blog page. Take care and Stay cheerful.

Thanks Brightsmile for your post. I like the poem too. It is the English translation of the original written by the Bengali Nobel Laureate R N Tagore. Stay cheerful and take care.

We are now passing through early winter. So we are not scared of Floods now. But you never can tell about Cyclones. It may happen anytime in this part of the planet Earth. I know snow and rain can cause lot of problems to people living in Europe. It is better to remain indoors now under such weather condition! So take care, Archer, my good friend!

Hello Look Look... I like the verse... and I can feel the mood. That place is familiar to most of us - we passed through at some time during our lives. The photos you posted are wonderful... I love a rainy day and I live in the right part of the world ... I'm looking forward to it

Thanks Sewg for stopping by and for leaving your appropriate comments on the blog . I agree that the mood, the place and the time described in the verse are familiar to most of us as we did pass through such situation at least once in our lives knowingly or unknowingly. In my case the occasion presented itself at a much later stage of my life when persons like us only count days for starting the final journey towards eternity! Hope, the expected rainy days ahead of you would not disappoint you in anyway. Thanks again for your visit.Take care and stay cheerful always.

Happy holidays to you LookLook1 The poem has a lot of sadness to it. But the brightness of the pictures following the poem lightened the mood. I particularly liked the one of the umbrellas. It looks like they were put there for advertisement. They are beautiful umbrellas. It reminds me of days here in Vancouver when you see all the umbrellas over the people as they line up in the que at the bus top except the umbrellas tend to be black. When I moved to Vancouver 42 years ago I vividly recall all those umbrellas on a very wet rainy day in November. It was a different sight than what I had been used to where I was living prior to moving to Vancouver.

Delighted to see you back on my blog page after such a long time! Needless to say that I always like to read from you on here as well as elsewhere too! You are right that the song (it Is actually an English translation of a Bengali song written by the Nobel Laureate R N Tagore) tells us a sad story. It is a story of love between two that was never told! The first picture is from Mauritius. It is the image of bright colorful umbrellas suspended overhead at Le Caudan Waterfront, Port Louis, Mauritius. You live in a wonderful city. The only son of my niece lives in Vancouver. He is a student of a University located there. He told me about the city very recently when he came to see us during vacation.
Stay well and take care. Merry Christmas and wishing you also a joyous 2018 .

Lovely poem LookLook. Those pictures are fantastic, love them. It's raining here in Ireland too. Miserable grey cold and dreary . Enjoy the rest of the festive season.

Thank you so much for your comments left here on my blog page. We are now passing through very early winter. Monsoon has left us late this year. I know what happens during the month of December in your part of the world as I had the opportunity to stay in London in this month in the year 1976. Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas now. Wishing you a joyous and peaceful 2018, Maudie. Take Care.
