Shattered Love

Shattered Love.

Sometimes early in the dawn,
Love climbs down silently from the echelon,
Don’t look for me in sleepy eyes,
I am nowhere around to surprise!

Don’t put on lights for then,
I count waves of Human Ocean.
Got myself lost in the station platform,
So can't return by last train in the storm.

those dreams in your blood,
constant move, day and night, like flood,
Just think if you could find time,
Where could I rest and write the last rhyme?

the dried onion buds in freezing cold,
Would remain untouched in packed mold.
I finished taking my last lentils and rice meal,
As food in a luxury home does no longer appeal!

The ship and its mast, shattered,
Yet, I write survival stories that mattered.
I would not like any longer,
To make her midnight demands stronger.
So I attempt repeatedly,
To swim across to touch the free bank finally!

Inspired by Anupam Roy, singer and lyricist. I know this is a failed attempt to reproduce in another language what he wanted to say to his listeners!

Karen hello,
Delighted to read from you here after a considerable time. I can't visualize how to react after reading your post left here on my blog page. You are right. The poem has a meaning. By the by, may I ask you when would you again start writing poems? Stay well and cheerful always, Karen.

Exact translations may get lost in changing from one language to another, but the passion and emotion is still often felt. This has a bittersweet sadness to me.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Mrs.Joe hello,
You are absolutely right! I was initially hesitating to reproduce it in English. The Bengali title of the song is something like this in your language:
"Let me stay as I like to stay"
But then, I felt to translate it in my own way. And the result is a complete new song and a new title. However, I presume that its passion and emotion as well as the hidden message remain unchanged!
Take Care and stay happy.
