PASSING OUT THE HALOS

When did the Democrats get religion? When was the massive conversion to doing the right thing, instead of setting up hush funds, and glorifying people like Perv Bubba and Murdering Ted Kennedy ?
According to a former Congressional staffer, who was a fellow ( there are fellowships, and interns and they are not offered the same protections as employees, and many are unpaid ) , not an employee, each new attractive woman was warned what offices to stay away from .
Democrats womanizing is nothing new. FDR had his long time mistress , Lucy Mercer. You didn't see that in the press. Jack Kennedy had a secret tunnel to let his affairs into the White House. All of the Kennedy men were taught well, from Joe, who had his dalliances with starlets- most famously Gloria Swanson.
And, of course, Perv Bubba is the poster child for the last of the 20th Century.
The press and the Democrats applauded the above as Great Men. Boys will be boys , they assured everyone.

So what happened? Why did the Democrats turn on the men in Congress? Politics. It has nothing to do with any sense of righting a wrong, but a cold, calculated game of politics. And it is a dangerous one.
The men accused and who will be accused have not much more than the word of a woman or women to end their careers and ruin their reputations. What happened to due process, investigation, and innocent until proving guilty ? This should scare everyone. These are Stalin Purge techniques. All it takes is no proof and a compliant press- and you are gone. This is not the way America works.

So what is the end game ? I see two .

The first is to purge the party of older men , who still may have some conservative leanings because they have memory of what worked in the past ( hint : it isn't socialist policies ) and replace them with far left women. The more women of color the better. Kamala Harris and Michelle Obama's names have been floated around for President.
Kirsten Gillibrand was thrilled to have Bill Clinton help get her elected, now he is pond scum. Political opportunism and hypocrisy , Kirsten ?

The second reason is obvious- make themselves look like actual feminists before the 2018 elections. They will point to Roy Moore and Donald Trump as the evil predators of women, and paint themselves as the good, righteous, and just Party.
They do the right thing, while the Republicans countenance abuse of women, etc. I am sure they will throw in racism, Islamophobia, and a lot of other isms before they are done.

There is another , more insidious , desired result here. It has been going on for a while , starting in grade school, and onto college campuses, and now is making its way into the work place and the Halls of Congress. That is the concept that males are evil. Males are predators, aggressive, violent, abuse women, and are the sum total of all that is wrong with the world. If men were only like women, or if women ran the world, there would be peace, prosperity and fairness for all. The feminization of boys began about a decade ago, at least.
The idea is get rid of men. And that is the Death of Civilization.

John Donne
Meditation 17
Devotions upon Emergent Occasions

"No man is an iland, intire of it selfe; every man is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if a clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Mannor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee...."

Unless a man is a mind reader he should stay away from women.
Anything he does can be an unwanted advance. Now or 30 years later.
Play it safe.

Yup. And that was my point on the death of civilization. I wonder where the Left thinks babies come from , if we eliminate all the rituals that come with dating, marriage, etc.
Also to your point is accusations without trial or proof can ruin a man. Apparently the rabid feminists don't care. I think their ideal world would be one with no men.

The good news for Republicans is that the voters will rebel against this putsch by self-righteous women and the men who curry their favor.

I hate to be the one to offer this question but WHY do women wear heels? Why do women wear make-up? Why do women wear scandalously short skirts and shorts? Why do women have an entire industries devoted to keeping their nails and hair perfect?

Oh, I know...it is self-esteem, right?

In your list of creepy Democratic males, you left out LBJ. Cornpone had long-term and short-term mistresses. He also gave his male member a nickname -- Jumbo. LBJ covered all the 7 deadly sins, including murder.

Watching the reaction of the Democrat Senators is like watching a scene from a old western movie. The Scene where the biggest loudmouth incites the townspeople to form a Lynch Mob.

What I have trouble with is why would anyone wait more than the time it takes to contact the law when an atrocity is committed.

In some cases, like elected officials, it is because they need the person temporarily, that they have thrown under the bus now.
As the Clintons get more and more irrelevant, we will see more condemnation of Bill, which some Republicans and conservative pundits have been doing for decades, while Hillary told us to move on, it's old news.

No- it's to make them attractive to men- all but the Left wing women, who try and look unfeminine, then lament men don't find them attractive.

However, I don't think nail polish is a male attracting thing. It's all about fashion.
I wear makeup and nail polish, because as the old expression goes- " A little powder and a little paint, makes you look like what you ain't ". Or as was said in " Guys and Dolls "
After all, we are civilized people. We do not have to conduct ourselves like a slob.

Maisie do you mean a lady can work her way up in this world by staying quiet about an atrocity? That is like taking a short cut in a marathon race.

I agree with what you wrote..... and also would mention the era of making men seen like buffoons. How about Archie Bunker, the Jeffersons, Al Bundy, and other sitcons from that time. Sadly, what is watched is often emulated and kids began to think their dads were just clowns in the family, not the head of it.
Now, they probably think their dads are some kind of perverts!

I believe those in office should be held to a high standard, but I was a little sorry to see Al Franken resign. His accusers were from a time prior to his election, right? While Conyers was while he was in office. To me, that does make a difference.

For someone to insult me, I first have to value his/her opinion.

Just like the actresses who now are accusing Harvey Weinstein, they had something he wanted and he had something they wanted. Now its called harassment.

What bothers me is the lynch mob mentality. All some woman has to do is say x did y, and he's gone. It is just as bad as not being believed, if x did do something. This country used to have a presumption of innocence. Now it's gone the other way.

Isaiah 3:4 & 3:12 talk about children oppressing and women ruling as God's judgment on the nation.

Although feminism is largely to blame today, I think men have not stood up when they should have in the past and let this happen also. A serious war would eradicate feminism I believe, they'd need men to survive. Men are builders of civilization. Feminists sit in offices men built & designed, drive cars men built and designed on roads men built and designed etc. They are stupid.

Many men now are simply avoiding long term relationships with women as they know they can lose their house and have to pay support for most of their life just on a false accusation. Some switched on men are silently avoiding women altogether because of this, they know they'll live debt free lives. Sad for both sides really. Selfishness is the root of the problem.

Judgment Day will be interesting

If you look at some of the more heated discussions on the blogs over the past few years, you will find a pattern among those who love to tell us what a " strong" woman they are- and all the adjectives that go with that one. " I am independent, don't need a man, no one tells me what to do, etc. "
But when a man in here gives them same treatment as they have done to the man, perhaps an insult, a pointed remark, they draw the " I am just a girl " card , and claim you can't talk to them that way .
So where is that line in the cases in the news? Why are we to believe each and every accusation? Are all women truthful all the time? No. And neither are men.
It is not a stretch of the imagination to think a woman might sleep with a Harvey Weinstein to get a movie role. Or that a man was propositioned, turned the woman down, and now she is getting revenge.
This is what troubles me about all this. There is no presumption of innocence. The men are being hanged after a trial in a kangaroo court
.

If you really want to question something, why not start with your motives. As usual, you make it sound like the democrats are the only ones committing sexual maladies in this world, and then when they do and they own up to it you criticize them for being hypocritical. If you took the time to actually listen, Sen. Franken actually espoused your point in this post. He said some of the things didn't happen and he remembered certain incidents as happening differently. Nonetheless, he resigned.

I realize taking the moral high ground is a foreign concept to the GOP starting with their erstwhile leader President Trump. There is not, however, any excuse for not using reasonable thinking, unless, of course, your capabilities prevent it. The problem of sexual harassment is its universality. It occurs everywhere and any effort to centralize it in any one group is an exercise in futility or an attempt at bamboozlement.

As for President Clinton, I've never seen anyone applaud his peccadilloes as you insinuate, nor have I ever seen any braggadocio over the JFK wanderings from the marital vows. The difference is they were both good presidents and both good politicians. While that doesn't excuse outrageous behavior, it does offer some mitigation. No such mitigation exists today. As President Lincoln is supposed to have said about General Grant's drinking, "I have a mind to provide all my generals with a case of whiskey if they could be as good as General Grant". I realize that's a paraphrase and it's offered for meaning more than accuracy.

So, huddle up with your comrades and cackle over the perceived indiscretions, but I warn you, don't huddle too close. You might make the 6:00 news.

Prejudice cannot be conquered with logic, logic didn't instill it and logic cannot eradicate it.

You misread. People like Gillibrand praised and thanked Clinton for his support, then said he should have resigned the Presidency.
Hillary did her best to destroy the lives of his accusers.
Franken was a great guy, until he wasn't. Ted Kennedy was reesponsilbe for the death of a young woman, and he was the " Lion of the Senate ".

My point is this has not one single thing to do with a sudden case of actual morality, but a set up to go after Moore and Trump. It is all 100% politics. I do not mistake politics for doing the right thing. The press covered for all the misdeeds of Demcrats , but went out their way to hang any Republican accused of wrong doing.

You really need to look beyond your narrow, blinkered view that sees nothing but US politics. You often seem to be bamboozled by Social Issues.......As if you only perceive them in your peripheral vision and dismiss them as childish or selfish.

There is no way you can even begin to understand politics until you pay more attention to Sociology......To Cultural and Environmental issues.......The Internet,
Human Migration, Global Industries, Changing weather patterns, developing Cultural-Social attitudes. You try to force every issue facing your country as if it exists in isolation from the rest of the World.......Gee, it must be either American politics or Biblical morality.....those are the only factors that influence current thinking........Good Grief!!!!!

No such thing as Global politics. Those who care about what people are doing half a globe away work at the UN, and or just posture as if they care.
All politics is local, as they say. Name me anyone who won an election becasue they ran on what the rest of the world was thinking, without ever addressing what their voters wanted.

Voters care about their paychecks, their homes and the families first. Everything else is just mental calisthenics.
But posture and preen away, if it makes you feel better.
