A morning chuckle to start my day...... the even funnier part is that the person was probably seriously trying to correct or chastise the original writer.

"Where is the book? It's in the Clinton's house." Now those two apostrophes are correct, but those who have no idea what an apostrophe is or where to put it will be even more confused. I remember hearing the "I" before "E" except after "C" rule, and thought that was WEIRD. lol

All I did was state the correct use of apostrophes. If anyone feels belittled by that, it's their own problem.

You're probably right but I'm never sure how to make a plural that ends with 's' into the possessive. If it ends in an 's' I usually just put the apostrophe after the word, but I've seen it like this.."Charles's cat".

Thanks Maisie. How on earth would a poor immigrant who doesn't speak English go to work all day and at night school try to figure out when to use an apostrophe or what the heck plural possession is? What a complicated language.
