"Americans are dreamers too." And, of course...you never practise divisiveness!

It was a good speech, and as expected, the Democrat side of the aisle didn't like the things he said. Perhaps because they know those accomplishments are ones they will have to answer to their voters for.... the fact that they didn't support them, that is. I was pleased to see some of them offering applause at times, and I got tired of the yo-yo of Republicans jumping up and down every time Trump paused for a breath. It was just what I expected though. As for the rebuttal, I was still in the room so I listened to it, and thought it just sounded like a campaign speech. I was not looking at the TV when I heard a quaver in his voice and looked up to see if he were crying..... that's when I thought he had a very pained looked on his face and noticed the spittle at the side of his mouth. I thought it looked like play acting to appear more impassioned. All in all, I thought the rebuttal was a gloomy speech, without offering any alternatives to what was in the SOTU. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

This triggered another thought when I heard it......... was he supposedly speaking to the dreamers? Why in Spanish? If they have been here since childhood, shouldn't they understand and speak English? I found it to be condescending to those so called "dreamers". Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Based on my own prejudice and logic, I wearily started to watch the speech on CRTV (online) last night, to see how far I could stand it. I made it all the way!! Went to read the Sk..... retort, only made it to line 6

Another good try, Don. Your feigned lack of understanding is laughable. Americans have dreams for their lives too..... and to call illegal aliens "dreamers" make it sound like their dreams are more important than those of legal citizens and immigrants. AND besides, he said he wanted to provide a way for those illegal aliens, brought here by their parents, a way to obtain legal status and eventually citizenship...... not deport them, unless they were criminals. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
