It was early 70s, a friend dropped by my upstairs apartment. We sitting at the kitchen window enjoying the cool shade of a large tree. My friend said "one person looks at a tree and sees beauty; another person looks at the same tree and sees an ugly tree" Not very profound I know .. but I've had 40 some years to think about that friend and that statement. I've decided beauty is in the heart.

Well, to be brutally honest, I don't like it..... in fact, never did like that other fella either..... Picasso. When I saw this one, my first thought was that you were stealing his style.  Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

"where you came from does not fit etc."......What could you possibly mean by that statement?......Every portrait of a US President and First Lady reflects where they came from. It is also where you came from so you imbue it with neutrality........It looks "normal" to you because it is your European White heritage.......
