Oh my..... wisdom and common sense? She must be silenced before some liberals begin to see the truth in what she says! as I recall, you also found candidate tRump very annoying and strident as well. As was then I won't disagree, but same as before who else is going to be equal time. Rush talks me to sleep, Savage is a dick sometimes and Levin gives as much voice to the opposition as the MSM. But they also have their strong points and are good listening while driving especially. UNLESS private insurers insist that people use it first if they are eligible. When we became Medicare eligible, our insurance company insisted that we take it and it became our primary payer, then the regular insurance picks up the rest. Oh, and no cut in the premiums either. Mind you, I am not complaining, just making an observation. But I do know that doctors get less from that system than they did from regular insurance and copays. I agree, and people should be able to tailor insurance to fit individual needs. When we got married, Joe was already on Medicare, with his insurance through his work as his secondary insurance. Of course, the premium went up when I went on his plan, but it was my primary insurance, with a doctor copay, and a 80/20 pay on other things, and copays on medication. When I became Medicare eligible, they insisted I go onto Medicare and they became my secondary insurance. I no longer had Dr. copays, and between Medicare and them, we pay nothing for anything except some copay on medications. Yes, we still pay a pretty hefty insurance premium, but the benefits outweigh that. Perhaps we are over-insured, but it works for us....... which is the whole thing about insurance - it needs to be tailored to the people. One size does not fit all. A lot of the common sense of the right does not make much sense. E.g. the opposition to 'socialist medicine'. Socialist medicine is good enough for veterans and old people, but apparently not for anyone else.

That's why we should be able to tailor our insurance to what we want and need. Without Joe's other insurance, we would have been in a world of hurt when he had to spend almost a month in the hospital a few years ago, and was in and out last summer and fall. I'm proud to call them friends, and just sorry that we live so far apart that our times together are few and far between. No apology coming for anything I said in this blog. I merely made note of the sudden change in attitude of the comments. Until Liszt said, " Good question. No direct connection at all. I would say that the tone remained civil in the comments -- because no one insisted on being an elitist jerk. If you consider those who did NOT comment, it becomes understandable." everyone had been civil in their discussions. It was like he jinxed it, because the comments suddenly became personal insults, which illustrated the theme of his blog. No apology for stating the truth. If I'm hearing you correctly ... since Trump showed up, your eight years of Republican arguments and personal attacks against Barack Obama and AFC have just simply disappeared. You have awakened, coffee is a brewing. You and Lisz have joined civilization. Congrats Throwing around terms like Obama is a Communist, a Marxist, he's kicking the can down the road, stealing money from future generations. Free HC is for freeloaders, grubbers. HC is not a right, the problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples money ... all these arguments are gone now as if Donald Trump sprinkled fairy dust on you? ....
