Ben Hepner is another Canadian with a pretty good voice. He hosts a musical program on the CBC these days. I'm listening to it at the moment.

My very first introduction to opera was when I was dating a tenor and we went to an opera to see Tosca. I'd never even heard opera before but from the first beat of that beautiful Puccini music I was hooked. I had never heard such beautiful music or tear jerking arias in my life. Anyone who has never listened to a Puccini opera is really missing something special. Lately I have been listening exclusively to Chopin's nocturnes while I'm out walking. Chopin has always been my favourite composer but his nocturnes are so beautiful and calming.

Placido Domingo is my 'go to' tenor too. I'm also a big fan of the blues and soft jazz.  Music does soothe, and has been with me through a number of stressful times.

I read this to Joe, (you knew I would, didn't you? ) and he was grinning and said, "YES! And how do we get this?" LOL. I haven't heard him playing opera lately, but I'm sure now that he feels better, I will be pulling our bedroom door shut......... he playing it LOUD. I only listen to the radio when I'm in the car, and I pick old time rock'n'roll stations. Music can indeed be soothing, however there is a flip side..... when one is feeling down and depressed, some music can exacerbate those feelings. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I think your quote must be right, because whenever I listen to Opera, my breasts feel extraordinarily savage........in fact, they feel like a pair of stalking Puma.....ready to pounce......Hmm.....
