Your blood pressure is running higher than is good for us old folks, and they evidently wanted to see if it was exercise induced, perhaps by some narrowing of the cardiac blood vessels.
Also, the tests are a good base and predictor of future problems. I can't do the treadmill part, so they do the nuclear every few years. I have a slight abnormality in the thickness of the heart wall and some abnormality in the electrical system, so they just keep an eye on it.
Checking and watching things today can help predict or avoid problems in the future.

In addition, the fact that you are able to do all you do is a good sign...... just write down any questions you have, so you can ask the cardiologist when you see him..... and make sure that you don't leave the office until you understand everything you want to know.
If you have someone whom you trust enough to go with you to be a second set of ears, it's a good idea. Joe never goes to the doctor alone, and I usually have a list of things I want to discuss. The same for me, I make that list and write down the answers! I like to have Joe or one of my daughters also there.

As MrsJoe suggested: Make a list of the questions you want to ask.

I would also strongly suggest you bring someone into the room with you. Another pair of ears is vital.

I've also used Google to give me more information so that I can ask intelligent questions.

Good luck with this!!

Hi Hiram......Sorry you are having health issues and it can be a bit nerve racking when you don't know what is going on with your body. I would add watch your salt intake also.

    Quoting  :

Speaking of salt, Hank, there is a lot of it hidden in most all prepared and canned foods. We had to adjust and find alternatives when Joe was put on a no added salt diet and told to keep his sodium intake under 1500 mg.
We found a no added salt potato chip that isn't too bad, and many no added salt canned veggies. Canned fruits are ok, as are fresh fruits and veggies and frozen ones.
Joe loved canned soups and had to give them up totally. His main vice is a sandwich for lunch. We used to buy a lo salt bread but the store stopped carrying it, so now I am looking into a bread maker to make our own.
Our bodies change and start to wear out as we get older, but we gotta just keep fighting and adjusting and carrying on and enjoying every day of life that God gives us!
