Reality of Infatuation.

Reality of infatuation.

Infatuation is not unkindly proved,
for those of us; we, who are so blessed.
It is a sweetness of dreams and issued,
with a heart’s affairs and love’s interest.

Even we poets, with our fragile hearts,
are aware of infatuation’s misting smoke,
that things are not to full, no fire starts,
when no embers are there for an iron’s stoke.

When infatuation rises a softening stream,
and a poet’s heart excels to a fancy’s call,
then dream on you poet, an excellent dream,
and it becomes not an infatuation after all.

What gives rise to love’s infatuate?
A woman’s beauty in full concentrate.

Hallo Breda; I wrote this poem in response to what Mrs. Joe said about infatuation. I have decided that infatuation only happens one sees something they can't have or another doesn't want them. Personally; it's a safe bet, like reaching for that unreachable star, falling for a film-star, a pop-star or for the taste of a pickled onion when there's not a shop within a thousand miles!
Gosh! I would love a pickled onion right now!!! I'm infatuated with the idea... Do they have pickled onions in Ireland, M'Dear?

I was infatuated with Brian Jones from the Rolling Stones, cried myself silly when he died. What a great group, and still going strong. Lovely poem Ron.

I remember a song called 'You can never make love like an Irishman' by Lonnie Donnegon, I think it was... But see how you two Irish Ladies have arrived; I think the Irish Ladies are the best...lol.
Personally; I place the Rolling Stones far above the Beatles, they made records you could really dance to!
Now, dry your tears, Maudie and smile.
Thankee kindly for your comment...

Phrases plucked from the Nat King Cole lyrics... Fascination

Just a passing glance...
Just a brief romance....
Then I touched your hand.....

I think that it's great, especially at our age, to get our blood pumping with a bit of fascination! LOLOLOL

What on earth do you mean, friend Rocket...'At our age'?
I can tell you that feelings and sensitivity are to as highest when one reaches the age of sixty and over. That's when we all can dream and renew the fires which had been dulled through a life of hard living. Find me a woman over sixty who is not ready to be fascinated by lover and I'll show you a woman who has lost the will to live.

Who agrees with me?
