You may be right about the 'average joe', but think of the satisfaction you got from proving you still have 'it'~~~~

While I am not an admirer of this form of art, it's sort of like a beautiful freeze frame from a kaleidoscope, it did bring back an interesting memory from my childhood. My grandmother's living room ceiling was high, and she read in a magazine that bringing the color of the ceiling down the wall slightly would make it appear not so high. She tried it, and did not like the straight line around the upper area of the wall, so she took a paper plate and traced scallops all around the upper wall, then painted them the same color as the ceiling. Quite unusual, to say the least, and my grandpa hooted with laughter when he saw it. He said it made him feel like he was sitting in a circus tent. He did not ask her to change it, and it remained that way for many years. I'm glad nobody tries to analyze my thought patterns to try to find the paths and thought patterns this one took. LOL...... I guess it was the scallops around the edges. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Fabulous colours. You have a vivid imagination and a very steady hand.

What art "form" would that be Mrs Joe?...painting on canvas? I actually do prefer oil or acrylic on canvas. I am not fond of the geometrics or of still life or portraits. My preference runs more to scenery paintings, particularly with the ocean, water, mountains, and old barns and bridges involved. I actually have seven such painting hanging in my living room. Personally, I have no artistic talent, but I admire it in others. About all I can draw is flies..... and mosquitoes. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I view art like I do music. Take opera for instance, it is not one of my favorite types of music, but I admire the talent that it takes to perform it. The same with paintings. Yes, I get it....he least challenging paintings possible. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Is it really? I wouldn't know because I know nothing about the production aspect...... just the final product that I like. It still takes talent I am sure, to be able to blend colors and make the size of things to look realistic.

I mean challenging for the viewer..... Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

LOL..... so you are saying I'm a lazy art viewer? Hmmmm. LOL. Could be. I just know that I like natural stuff like scenery, and not the things that I need to hunt for the hidden meaning. I enjoy paintings that I could just walk right into. And I prefer the oil or acrylic over water colors. This how artists have always worked....even the Sistine ceiling was originally small sketches. Anyways, I posted a number of these paintings that were photo-realism except that the artist allowed the grid to show through in some places......She does this to give the viewer a small glimpse....a peek into her process......to illustrate her artfulness, her skill in transferring the storm, or the peaceful cherry trees from the 3-D world outdoors to a 2 dimensional canvas.......to show the utility of the process that has been lived in order to bring you this vibrant, living work of art......to illustrate that a human made that in living her life......that it wasn't just the click of a button and a photo-card in a computer.........A real, living person spent hours of skilful work that took a life-time to develop............. You didn't like that.....you thought the glimpses of the under-painting was disturbing........Just saying..... But at least you respond.....you always respond and I appreciate that.....My art blogs here typically get lots of views and few comments. I understand why people don't comment on art.....there are a lot of pretentious people and poseurs in the art world.

Lulu, I can only be honest about what I like and don't really care for...... but as I said before, I do admire the talent and ability that so many have. I imagine that artists understand that not everything they create will appeal to everyone. Thank goodness we all have different tastes, right? Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

My artwork has met with a lot of censure.....I have provided "Communications Books" in all my shows, encouraging people to express their responses......to little avail.......Typically, the response would be either "I love this" or " You dare to call this Art?"........to "Take it Down!!!"..........Not very enlightening......

Believe me, I'm very aware of different tastes.......I just wish more people would be able to express their experience of viewing art. My artwork has met with a lot of censure.....I have provided "Communications Books" in all my shows, encouraging people to express their responses......to little avail.......Typically, the response would be either "I love this" or " You dare to call this Art?"........to "Take it Down!!!"..........Not very enlightening...... On another note, I find myself being critical of Joe's singing these days. When we first got together, he sang very well, but age has crept into his voice and with his eyesight being worse, he doesn't follow the karaoke lights on the words to the songs as well as he might. But it is a fun time for him, so I try to not be too critical, and from the applause and handshaking that he gets for his efforts, others appreciate it also. That is how I feel about art...... I may not personally like the finished product, but I appreciate the talent and effort that went into the painting. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
