Part of a mural I painted in 2005.......I didn't realize what I was getting myself into with the concrete blocks....really challenging to avoid those perpendicular grooves taking over the design......It was cheerful though, originally an outside cafe, deck. It's still there, now the deck is served by a food-truck........

I put two coats of white sealant on the bricks before I started painting.....I painted it at the height of Summer tourist season and a lot of people watched.....mostly kids.....I asked them for suggestions and the bee and the raven were kid's ideas...........It took me a week......The peas are growing on an actual structural post......It's about 10 by 20 feet.....

This popped up on my watched blogs list before your own comment did, so I decided to wait until you told a little bit about it. I already liked it, and wondered where it would be located on brick like that. The bee is an extra nice touch. I have bought two small furniture pieces that a local artist had painted with bees. One of Joe's physical therapists commented on the magazine rack so frequently that we gave it to her.
I have two other pieces that she did with vines and flowers. Your pictures emphasize that art isn't confined to a canvas.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I recently made my daughter a birthday card in which she is hugging a bee the size of a 3 year-old........I paint her an elaborate card every year, her birthday and the advent of Spring are synonymous in my mind.....the geese flying North, the first flowers, the greening .......Last year I did a painting of her working out and cooking at the same time......the year before, I did a portrait of her waking up in the morning, but as a Mama bear waking in the Spring.....That was really challenging.....to make her look like herself and a bear simultaneously........I made her stretching and yawning with an open window /cave mouth looking out on a Spring day.......

The cute bee caught my attention too, and the colours are so beautiful and vibrant. I love it.

These are lovely paintings Sparkle. I especially like the peas in the pod. Makes you want to grab one of them and pop the peas in your mouth. Very cool and you are so artistic.
