MY SCRIBBLE-BUG PRINT FOR LILLIUM...... |

|
The beetles tunnel between the bark and the wood.....I found a piece of bark that had the trails ........and I took it home and made a print using a lino-print technique.....sort of.......The bark was curved to the shape of the trunk and is very brittle.... I was using the inside curve for the print. I washed it and let it dry for a couple of days before I applied the ink.

Very unusual. There are countless beautiful pictures in nature, one just has to have the eye to see some of them. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I really like what you've done with the bark by allowing nature to do the artwork, in this instance, serve as a stencil of sorts. I love how the dark brown ink provides a strong contrast against the beetle tunnels. I love the subtle colours blending unobtrusively in the background. You've done a beautiful job. I wonder how it (and similar) would translate to batik/fabric with their striking patterns? Or just framed/frameless prints - they have a lovely 'earthy' feel.

Wonderful and very original piece of art design. It takes a keen eye for sure.
