WHAT'S THAT BEEPING SOUND? I was just looking through one of my journals from 20, looking for something, when I came across this..........I couldn't stop laughing.....

I have an allergic reaction to Nickel touching my skin, which means no Silver jewelry or metal watches......I even had to stop playing my silver flute........I needed a watch for work though, so when I looked for a watch, I looked for one with a plastic case. It was hard to find a decent plastic watch, but I finally found one and it served me well. It had a lot of digital features, one of which was an alarm. The alarm had a loudness setting and I set it to the lowest one,.... One day, while I was in the process of setting the alarm, it got stuck on 10:39.....and there it stayed.....nothing could budge it......I left the watch in the bottom of my bag. One day I was on the ferry and it went off as the captain was making the safety announcement.....The alarm was barely audible. I was sitting close to a guy who I don't like, but who I had to deal with often...and who is very persnickety and self righteous........He asked me what that beeping sound was....I said I didn't hear anything, it was probably the ferry speaker.....He said, no, I think it's coming from you....I insisted that he must be imagining things and I gave him a look and got up and left.........giggling to myself..... So I had to get a new work watch........and the old alarm watch...well, I don't know where I put it...but every morning and evening it beeped at 10:39 . I tried to find it so I could destroy it, but it eluded me.....I mean, I wasn't going to jump up and look for it every time it went off.....I was always in the middle of something and it only lasted a few seconds......So I just got used to it.....no more aggravation than a dog bark or a crow cawing outside. Then one day my daughter was at my house when the watch beeped and she absolutely had to know where that sound was coming from.....I made the mistake of laughing at her, like I did at the ferry guy......She was not having it.....She could not believe that I didn't immediately take my house apart and find that watch....She actually got angry.....and me laughing at her didn't help....She just got up in a huff and stormed out........ The watch battery eventually ran out, but I never found it....not even when I moved out.....

Oh Lulu, I am laughing..... you have a lot more patience than I do...... I would be searching for that darn watch until I found it. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Oh Lulu, I am laughing..... you have a lot more patience than I do...... I would be searching for that darn watch until I found it.  .
