Trucker protests in Canada These events have been getting some coverage on Fox News with great approval. They are not getting much of that in Canada however. The vast majority of Canadians are totally opposed. The vast majority of truckers are opposed. The events were organized and led by a gang of Trudeau hating Alberta right wing nutters. Their funding, some of it from US sources, has been cut off at the request of the Ottawa police. Please, Americans, you foreign aid to some place that needs it. This is not the first time that sentiments for south of the border have spilled into Canada. |

90% of Cdn truckers are vaccinated. Protests are allowed but not to the extent that they interfere with the health and safety of other people which is exactly what they are doing. So yes "GO TRUCKERS" all the way home to your miserable lives. Time to send these idiots packing.

Thanks Rentier for posting this!! I agree completely with what you have said here. Americans... Keep your money either at home or send it to countries who need vaccines or other support. We in Canada do not appreciate white supremacists, neo-nazis, or extreme politicians meddling in our country.

Many Canadians can discuss your politics better than many Americans. There is an expression here that when America sneezes we catch a cold. Most Cdns will agree with you when Yanks are correct, for instance, I agree that Trudeau is a very poor PM. One thing we will not back off of is that while our health care is not perfect it is superior to American health care. So if anyone has a criticism we can handle it. In fact sometimes we like the attention LOL

The protesting truckers and their sympathizers are just wimpy little poor sports getting their panties all in a twist because they are so hard done by.....Wha wha wha...poor us.....I just want to tell them to grow a pair.......They can't think past their windshields...........They are incapable of empathy....EVERYONE has been going through this ...EVERYONE has suffered consequences .....Selfish, ignorant, spoiled babies the lot of them....

Archer, I have read about the gathering in France for protesting the restrictions in Paris and Brussels. It is about time that people wake up and stand up for their rights and freedom. Who was it, who said: "When you give up your freedom for safety, you will lose both in the end" ?

You like to twist things so that they appear in your favor. If you have gathered all information you can, you either did not understand what you read or you fully agree with the planned direction. You are not the only one I communicate with, and we have a dialogue using logic...... Conspiracy seems to be "the word" that comprises everything that you can't explain. Adult people should be able to have adult conversations every once in a while.

Looks like the protest is starting to peter out. The protestors at Coutts and Milk River are packing. The RCMP arrested a few there and found guns, ammo, and protective vests.

The police are beginning to arrest the protesters in Ottawa. They have also frozen some of their bank accounts, and are threatening to cancel their truck insurance.

I have been watching the live coverage of the police actions in Ottawa. I am amazed at how restrained the cops are. I saw the Montreal riot squad in action back in the 60's, and they didn't hesitate in wielding batons. The only thing the police in Ottawa have done that I saw is to pepper spray people once in a while. When they arrest people they walk them quietly to police vehicles. Several of the ringleaders were arrested and released on bail. The terms of the bail included leaving Ontario and not supporting the protestors in any fashion, including verbal. There was also a report that Biden told Trudeau to fix this problem fast. I guess Biden is worried it may start something similar in The Greatest Nation On Earth.
